Abstract

Climate change and environmental degradation have become urgent global issues. In addition, the impacts have affected welfare in the economic and social fields. In this context, an effort is needed to support the transition to a green economy by creating green jobs among school students. However, there is still a knowledge gap in its implementation, especially in understanding how environmental literacy, green skills, and behavior can affect green jobs. This study will use a quantitative approach using a survey involving high school students, where data will be collected through a questionnaire based on a Likert scale. The main results of this study indicate that green jobs through workforce development influence improving environmental literacy, green skills, and green behavior. The results of the analysis in the study showed that Workforce Development contributed to Environmental Literacy with an influence value of 0.194 (p <0.05), Green Skills 0.201 (p <0.001), and Green Behavior 0.254 (p <0.001). Based on these results, it is proven that investing in workforce development is the right step in supporting green job creation efforts, making contributions to environmental sustainability, and improving the workforce in the future.
